Drinking wine gives people the feeling of self-satisfaction, confidence, and sophistication. A lot of people study this drink, how it’s supposed to be drunk, how it’s supposed to smell, how to handle it, and how to store it. There are a lot of upcoming wine connoisseurs everywhere and the popularity of wine accessories is greatly increasing.

The most common wine accessory is, of course, the wine glass. The most important, but also the most overlooked part of a wine glass is its stem. While you’re drinking wine, hold the stem of a wine glass instead of the body so that the temperature of your hand won’t affect the wine. Choosing a particular wine glass for a wine style is important because the shape of the glass can influence its perception.

Another wine accessory is the wine bottle opener, needed to properly open wine bottles that are sealed with a cork. Sadly, it is slowly becoming overlooked because of the popularity of screwcaps. There are a lot of types of wine bottle openers, ranging from the original corkscrew, to the carbon dioxide driven openers. The most popular of them all is the wine key that looks like a pocket knife. It has a small blade for cutting the foil and a screw for the cork. Wine poppers can also be used in opening wine.

On the other hand, wine coolers are similar to either an ice bucket or a refrigerator, depending on what kind you choose. The small table top units can rapidly chill a small bottle of wine. These units are best used in places with warmer climates since it can obtain the correct wine serving temperature - appropriate for wines that are supposed to be served chilled. The large refrigerator style units that replicate ideal temperature and humdity requirements are useful for people who do not own their own wine cellar.

Other wine accessories include: wine decanters, wine racks, wine collars, wine stoppers, wine journals, wine thieves, and wine clips. While these accessories aren’t as important as the first three, they still each play a role in making your wine as perfect as can be.
