One Fat Hen
One Fat Hen is a vocal drinking game that is based on people repeating what the leader says, word per word, with hilarious results, especially when they are intoxicated. This game is pretty simple because all you need are a lot of willing friends and beer. The leader has to know what the phrases are because he or she will have that position for the whole round.
When the leader says a phrase, the other players follows suit and repeats the phrase and sip their drinks. This may sound like an easy task, but it really isn’t because the phrases are connected and are not said separately.
The format for saying the phrases goes like this: sip the drink, repeat the line, and sip the drink. If someone makes a mistake then that player has to take a drink, ask the leader to repeat, then they have to do the turn again. When all the players finally speak the sayings and actions correctly, the leader starts again and adds the second line.
The format of this game goes like this:
Leader: (sip) One Fat Hen! (sip)
Player 1: (sip) One Han Fen! *takes a drink and repeats the line* (sip) One Fat Hen! (sip)
Leader: (sip) One Fat Hen, A couple of Ducks! (sip)
Player 1: (sip) One Fat Hen! (sip) *takes another drink and repeats the line*
This goes on until the tenth line.
There are many line variations of the game, but the most common is this:
· One fat hen
· A couple of ducks
· Three brown bears
· Four horny hares
· Five fickle females
· Six simple Simons spitting on a slug
· Seven Sicilian sailors sailing the seven seas
· Eight egotistical egoists echoing egotistical ecstasies
· Nine nude nymphs nibbling on Nat’s nails and nicotine
· Ten. I’m not the fig or the fig plucker’s son, but I’ll pluck that fig till the fig plucker comes!
