Getting Rid of a Hangover

Admit it; having a hangover isn’t exactly the best way to spend your day. That party was fun though, but the consequences of that good time are a splitting headache, or maybe even a pain in the stomach. It isn’t pretty but, unfortunately, it’s real and it really, really hurts. It is said that the best way to prevent a hangover is to drink lots and lots of water before going to bed. Though this really does work, it’s kind of a hassle to think about drinking water when you’re on the verge of passing out drunk. The best thing is to think about how to get rid of a hangover and not to prevent one because how can you avoid something that’s already there? There are a lot of tips on getting rid of hangovers and it really depends on the person on what cure works best for them.

It is a well-known fact that alcohol causes dehydration. That is why a lot of people drink water like there’s no tomorrow when they wake up from a hangover. Though this works for some, others still feel the pain even after consuming enough water to flood their home. Some prefer to eat rather than drink, but the kinds of food differ for some people. Some people like eating greasy food, like fast food hamburgers while others prefer something light like soup or fruit that won’t make their stomach queasier. Even though these food remedies tend to work, hangovers can cause diarrhea, which can increase after eating. Pain killers can also be effective, but you just have to make sure to check the labels since some pain relievers like aspirin and such should not be used when alcohol is still in your system.

If ingesting drinks, food, and medicine still doesn’t cure a hangover, try sleeping it off. The best way to get rid of that sickly feeling is to escape from it. If that doesn’t work, drink some more booze. Hey, it’s been known to work.
